Since I have been home with Parker I am becoming more aware of all the waste that I am a part of. I also have been more aware of what I put in and on my pure little baby, myself and my family. Dusty tells me I need to go hug a tree every time I tell him how I am doing my part to be green, about the organic products and food I am switching to, or the natural (Old Fashioned!) way I am starting to clean. I find it funny that for someone that loves the out doors so much, he pokes fun at me for "saving a tree". But, I am trying to do my part, we are not all the way green, nor will we ever be (Dusty has a diesel truck and two stroke engines that he will not give up) I guess you could say we are light green! Some of the things we are doing is recycling, gasps...I know! But, we never did this before! I started separating paper, glass, cans, etc. I am also using cleaning products without all the harsh chemicals which is good for our septic anyways! I am buying more organic produce, especially for Parker and trying to buy more foods without all the processed junk, by the way, Whole Foods makes cookies that are all natural that tastes amazingly just like Oreos, a new favorite of Dusty's! And, the main thing that we, er...I (I should not include Dusty in this one!) am doing is cloth diapering! Yes, something I said I would never do, but Parker's extreme issue with diaper eczema urged me to make the switch! Now that I have been doing cloth for about 2 weeks it is really easy, clean, not smelly, soft for Parker, not to mention cute! (that is a cloth diaper he has on in the photo below and in the post before this!) Cloth diapers have come a long way! No more prefolds, now you can get All in Ones, they look just like disposables, just snap or Velcro and are made of cloth! We still use disposables, just not as many. So far so good, Parker seems happy, his bum is free of rash and I feel I am doing my part to keep some diapers out of the landfills!
Have a Happy Earth Day!

You ARE getting crunchy! I love it! Having kids really makes you re-evaluate just how much junk you want them exposed to. I try to use organic stuff when possible and buy natural foods (and sugar-free, whole wheat, etc.). I haven't gone as far as using cloth diapers, although that cute little bum in the photo might make me change my mind. Love the moon diaper!
