Camping

This past Friday Dusty, Parker and I took off for a quick one niter camping trip. It was spur of the moment, just us and fun! We went to Yuba Gap again, just 25 minutes up the hill from us, but enough of an altitude jump to be way cooler, we had to turn the heater on in the morning to warm up the RV.
We arrived later in the afternoon and quickly realized we forgot ice, so took a walk to the general store with Parker and the dogs to get ice so we could have margaritas! We got back to camp, Dusty started the BBQ, I mixed some drinks, fixed dinner for Parker and then we sat down for a mean game of Rummikub (I won by the way!).

After dinner we were inside and Parker started standing all on his own! He now is standing for a minute plus by himself! Dusty and I think walking will be right around the corner! (These photos were taken consecutively during one "stand")

Looks like he is surfing!

We started to settle in for the night and tired out Parker's 'Pea Pod' camping bed.

He was content in it while he sipped on his cocktail of choice, but once it was time to really go to sleep, it was a no go and blankets and the air mattress from the Pea Pod made up his make sift bed for first half of the night next to my side of the bed, until he decided that sleeping with us would be much warmer!

The next morning we woke up very early, a queen sized bed, 2 adults, a baby and 2 dogs do not make for the best sleeping conditions! I made Parker his first sliver dollar pancakes for breakfast and he gobbled them up! At this point in the trip he was starting to feel the early effect of lack of sleep!

Parker even has a drawer in the RV to play in to keep busy while Mom cooks!

After breakfast we took the dogs on a walk around half of the lake and played on the swings and slide.

Dusty in heaven, dogs, lake, outdoors, peace and quite.

Parker and Mom going down the slide.

Parker gives swinging a try...not too impressed with it!

He was much happier riding with Mom.

Oh, I almost forgot! I drove the RV for about 15 minute up the highway till we stopped for briquettes! It really was not that hard and I think I could do it with confidence now...just as long as I don't have to turn around, back up, or get into a tight parking space!

All in all, it was a great little get away and just what Dusty and I needed!!
